Cultivation Process :
  • Plantation Period : The different species of wheat seed should be sown on the till 30th November or till 25th of December.
  • Distance : There should be a gap of 3 meter. The distance should be of 150 m from the farm infected with kandua disease.
  • Irrigation : First irrigation should be after 20-25 after the seeds are sown, second on 40-45 days, third on 60-65 days, fourth on 80-85 days, and 5th on 100-105 days.
  • Fertilizers and Manure : Use of fertilizer depends upon the type of soil. One should check the type of soil and if the testing is not possible then 120kg nitrogen, 60kg phosphorous, and 40kg of potash should be given on per hectare.

Special Precautions :
  • Weed Control : Within 45 hours, padomythene mixed in 400-500 ltrs of water should be sprinkled on per hectare land. If florice myner and wild jai is available in abundance then active isoprotoron mixed in 700 ltrs of water should be sprinkled on the land after 30-35 days of sowing. Herein, one should take care that field must contain proper moisture. Wide-leaved weed like bathua, hinkhuri, etc. can be controlled from the chemical 2-4D. The active 400g chemical mixed in 700 ltrs of water should be sprinkled on the field after 30-35 days of sowing.
  • Disease Control : Luse smut and karnal bunt are prime diseases of Wheat Plants. Podery Mildew and Jhulsa disease are also found in Wheat Plant.
  • Gerui Disease : To control this pest, Dythane Z-78 mixed in 800 ltrs of water should be sprinkled on per hectare. First spray should be done on 1st week of the February and 2nd on the gap of 15 days.
  • Luse smut : Due to this disease, husk is filled with black powder rather than seed. To control this, 2.5 gm of bytawex mixed in waiwstne chemical should be used as per kg of seed. The certified wheat seeds provided by us are treated with these chemical before distribution.
  • Karnal Bunt : Due to this disease, seeds become partly black because of which it can’t be used for cultivation. To control this disease, when seed is 60-70% fruitful, 500 ml tilt chemical mixed in 600 ltrs of water should be sprinkled on the land.
  • Pest Control : Wheat seeds are mostly infected by deepak, weevils, brown ants, afid and army worm.
  • White ant control : Before sowing, seeds should be treated with 400ml aldrin chemical mixed in 5ltrs of waters. This amount is apt for 1 quintal of seeds. The treated seeds should be kept for drying for one night. Apart from this, 5% of aldrin or 10% of B.H.C. powder having 25 kg should be mixed in the soil before sowing.
